Jim Ross Return Announced For 12/29 "New Year's Smash" AEW Dynamite

Plus the former Undisputed Era team up

Jim Ross will return to the AEW broadcast booth next Wednesday night at New Year's Smash, two months after revealing a diagnosis of skin cancer.

Ross has been absent from the booth for the past several weeks to undergo treatment. In the interim period, Taz and others have filled in for Ross on commentary.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ross revealed that he had just underwent his 18th different treatment, with four more to come.

In addition to Ross' return, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and new AEW signee Kyle O'Reilly will team up in a trios bout against Orange Cassidy and Best Friends at New Year's Smash.

O'Reilly debuted tonight at the end of a match between Cole and Cassidy, enabling Cole to win. Together with Fish, they executed a beatdown of Best Friends when they attempted to intervene.

The card for AEW New Year's Smash, taking place next Wednesday at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, is as follows:

* AEW TBS Semifinals: Thunder Rosa vs. Jade Cargill

* Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish vs. Orange Cassidy and Best Friends

* Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz vs. Daniel Garcia and 2point0

* Plus, the return of Jim Ross
