Jim Ross Thinks Full Gear Was Mercedes Moné's Best AEW Match To Date

Mercedes Moné’s AEW run has received its fair share of criticism thus far, though her match at AEW Full Gear 2024 against Kris Statlander was an acclaimed one, receiving 4.5 stars from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. AEW commentator and personality Jim Ross has also applauded this match, stating that it is the best Moné has been in AEW. 

Speaking on Grilling JR, the Hall Of Famer remarked that this was Moné at her very best. 

“Without a doubt, best match that Mercedes Moné has had, in my opinion, since coming to AEW. I’ve been waiting on that match. I’ve been waiting on that match. I said this before, I tried to say it politely, and I know some people took it the wrong way because I’ve seen it online. All I was ever saying was, we haven’t seen the best of her yet. Meaning that there’s a significant upside to this young lady, who has a great look, great presence, and then all of sudden, on Saturday night, we saw the best of Mercedes Moné. It was very impressive.”

Moné recently noted that she was feeling the best she’s ever felt during her time with AEW.
