Jim Ross To Leave Hospital After 30 Days

Legendary announcer Jim Ross is set to leave hospital, with JR’s latest stay lasting over 30 days.

The veteran voice of wrestling has been plagued by health issues over the past several years, with the nature of his most recent stay not publicly disclosed. The AEW announcer took to social media to announce his discharge from hospital:

“Heading home tomorrow! Over 30 days in the hospital come to a grateful end. Count your blessings daily,” posted Ross on X/Twitter.

The 74-year-old is on a rolling year-by-year contract with AEW, with his current deal set to expire in August 2026. This latest stay in hospital is not Ross’ first health complaint of 2026, with Ross missing a Dynamite taping in January due to a bad fall. Ross also revealed he fell prior to an appearance at AEW Double or Nothing in May, and had fallen prior to his AEW return at All In Texas in 2025.

Ross missed significant time from AEW in 2024/2025 due to ongoing treatment for skin cancer, however, Ross revealed in Summer 2025 that he is now cancer free.
