Mercedes Moné Teases Bayley Match For AEW WrestleDream

What better place for a dream re-match than AEW WrestleDream? That’s what Mercedes Moné thinks, after teasing a bout with long-time frenemy Bayley at the upcoming event.

Buoyant from her second Owen Hart Cup win in a row, Moné took to social media, posting a mocked-up poster for WrestleDream pitting herself against Davina Rose - Bayley’s name when she was on the indies. Naturally, this caused a stir.

Although Bayley remains under contract with WWE, chatter - albeit a lot of it wishful thinking - has suggested the multi-time WWE Women’s Champion could/should depart WWE for All Elite Wrestling, having seemingly done everything in WWE and being entrenched firmly in the mid-card, whilst not being booked for several high profile Premium Live Events.

Bayley and Moné have not wrestled a singles match since 2020, with their 2015 NXT TakeOver Brooklyn match still held in high regard, with many claiming it to still possibly be the greatest women’s match in WWE history. As recently as 2025 the two teased having 'one more match' against one another.

Fans hoping this could turn out to be true still have time on their side, with WrestleDream usually taking place in late October, although the 2026 edition has not been formally announced by AEW at the time of writing.
