Jimmy Wang Yang Reportedly Departs WWE Producer Role Following Try-out

Jimmy took on the try-out in October

The former Jimmy Wang Yang has reportedly departed WWE following a short try-out as a producer within the company.

It was reported in October that James Yun - known as Jimmy Wang Yang during his in-ring career - had started a try-out period with WWE as a backstage producer. PWInsider is now reporting that, after several weeks in the position, Yun has determined that the role is not for him and has opted to move on to other ventures.

Yun had departed WWE in 2010 after a number of years with the promotion. He was one of the wrestlers absorbed into the promotion following WCW's closure and had initially worked under the name Akio, before transitioning into the 'Jimmy Wang Yang' character during the later years of his WWE run.

During his career, Yun has also wrestled for Ring Of Honor, TNA and All Japan Pro Wrestling.

In recent years, Yun has launched and operated a party bus company and has teamed with his daughter Jazzie Yang on independent events.
