Jinder Mahal Suffers Knee Injury Only Weeks After WWE Raw Return
The Modern Day Maharaja is back on the shelf...
Jun 5, 2020
Back on the April 27 episode of Monday Night Raw, Jinder Mahal returned after 10 months on the shelf. The Modern Day Mahajara underwent surgery on a ruptured patellar tendon back in June 2019, but he returned in dominant fashion as he squashed former Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa in 95 seconds.
Mahal seemed to be in line for a push on the red brand as he cut a promo two weeks later in which he talked about how he was going to be a hero, and was often in the conversation as one of Drew McIntyre's future WWE Championship challengers.
Any plans for Jinder are now on hold, however, as he revealed on Instagram he recently underwent knee surgery.
Mahal wrote: "Unfortunately I had to go under the knife again to fix some knee issues. The journey has hit a speed bump, but I will be back stronger than ever."
The severity of the knee injury is not currently known, meaning Mahal could be out for any period from three weeks to a year.
