Jinder Mahal Undergoes Surgery For Ruptured Patella Tendon

"The Modern Day Maharaja" is out of action...

Jinder Mahal revealed via a post on Instagram that he has undergone knee surgery, and will understandably be out of action for some time.

Said Mahal, "On the mend. Ruptured my Patella Tendon in Denver Colorado June 15 in a match against @aliwwe . Happy to say surgery went well, and my knee was better than expected. This comeback is going to be legendary."

No timetable has been given for Mahal's return.

It was reported just days ago that Mahal had signed a new five year deal with the company, coming on the heels of Mojo Rawley and Mike and Maria Kanellis doing the same.

Mahal has been an integral figure in these early days of the 24/7 championship. He's held the championship two times for brief spells, defeating R-Truth on both occasions, first on a golf course, and then on an airport tarmac in Germany. In both cases, he dropped the gold back rather quickly to Truth (in the latter instance, while he was asleep on the flight to Super ShowDown).
