Joe Doering Passes Away

Former AJPW Triple Crown Champion and multi-time TNA World Tag Team Champion Joe Doering has passed away today at 44-years-old.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced Doering's passing, writing:

"At 9:13 a.m. today, June 26, our brother Joe Doering passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years, Joe packed a thousand years' worth of living into every one of them.

"Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay, his family, and leaves behind countless friends and devoted fans around the world who will forever remember his strength, courage, and spirit.

"Rest in peace, Joe. You will never be forgotten."

It was announced earlier this week by Joe Doering's sister-in-law that he would soon enter hospice care due to his third battle with brain cancer. Doering's brain cancer re-emerged in December 2025 and chemotherapy was stopped in May of 2026 after he was hospitalised.

Doering was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016. He underwent successful treatment and was able to resume his pro wrestling career, but the cancer returned in 2022, at which point he stepped away from the industry.

Born on April 16, 1982, Joe Doering began his pro wrestling career in 2004 and joined All Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2007. Beyond a seven-month run with WWE in 2010, Doering was a part of AJPW until 2019 and was one of the promotion's top stars, becoming a two-time Triple Crown Champion and four-time All Japan Tag Team Champion.

Doering joined TNA Wrestling - then IMPACT Wrestling - in 2020. He was a part of the Violent By Design stable with the likes of Eric Young, Cody Deaner, and Rhino and became a two-time IMPACT World Tag Team Champion in the process. Doering stepped away from IMPACT in 2022.
