The WWE Universe has been up in arms over the news of R-Truth departing WWE, with the company making the decision to not renew the expiring deal of the popular veteran. On Monday Night RAW, chants of “We Want Truth” filled the arena, and this happened once again during Friday Night SmackDown last night.
In the midst of a promo by Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and his Money In The Bank tag team partner Logan Paul, the audience once again chorused in chants of “We Want Truth”. This time, John Cena acknowledged the fans, which is the first time that WWE have referenced this news on screen.
Cena hit back at the fans and echoed the iconic Jack Nicholson line, “You can’t handle the truth!”, before then talking about his own “truths”. He used the chants to once again call fans hypocrites, stating “You hypocrites chant for Truth, you are all pathetic liars.” This did not stop the chants.
It was reported over the last week that WWE were apparently stopping talent from wearing any R-Truth t-shirts on RAW. Chants for Truth also surfaced on TNA during their Against All Odds 2025 event, coming after reports of the promotion being interested in signing him.
