R-Truth and Carlito are both set to depart WWE, having been informed by the company that their contracts were not being renewed. Ron Killings announced that he was being released by WWE, while Carlito noted his contract was due to expire in the next couple of weeks and he will be leaving the organisation when his deal comes to an end.

WWE deciding not to renew Carlito and R-Truth's deals was reportedly due to impending main roster call-ups from WWE NXT, according to Dave Meltzer in the F4WOnline Daily Update. It was noted that "when there are additions coming from NXT, there will be subtractions" and those most at risk of being let go include talents not being used or older wrestlers utilised on the undercard.

NXT call-ups also led to main roster releases in early May when Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance were all let go. The likes of Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Roxanne Perez have since been moved to Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown in recent weeks.

A main roster call-up that is reportedly imminent will see Ricky Saints join Raw or SmackDown. The former Ricky Starks has been booked on WWE NXT since making his WWE debut but he dropped the NXT North American Title to Ethan Page on May 27, which suggests his time on Tuesday nights is coming to an end.
