Carlito is set to leave WWE as the company has decided not to renew his contract, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has revealed.
Carlito has been told his contract will not be renewed and he will exit the organisation when his deal officially comes to an end. Carlito's departure is similar to R-Truth, who announced today he had been released by WWE, with it being noted soon after that Ron Killings will leave the company when his contract expires. Also similar to Killings, Carlito was in his second run with WWE.
Carlito first performed for the company from 2003 until 2010. After a two-night return for the 2021 Royal Rumble, Carlito made another short return at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico to assist Bad Bunny in his match against Damian Priest.
The positive response to Carlito's appearance led to a full-time return in October 2023, where he joined the Latino World Order. Carlito later turned heel in April 2024 and aligned with Judgment Day, becoming an official member of the group in August of last year.
While seldom wrestling, Carlito has been regularly featured on TV as part of Judgment Day, often interfering in matches and appearing in backstage segments with the faction.
Carlito made his return to Puerto Rico's World Wrestling Council on May 31, where he defeated Ray Gonzalez to become the new WWC Puerto Rico Champion.
