John Cena is one of WWE's biggest-ever stars, having been the company's top attraction from 2005 until he ended his career as a full-time wrestler in 2016/2017.

Cena didn't instantly rise to the top but the 17-time world champion received a big debut, losing to Kurt Angle on the June 27, 2002 episode of SmackDown after declaring what made him special was "ruthless aggression."

Appearing at the Philadelphia Fan Expo panel, Cena revealed the period of his WWE career he wishes he had a do-over for was his time with the ruthless aggression gimmick.

"The time period I wish I had a do-over for was the ruthless aggression character. I did nothing with it," Cena said.

Cena didn't present much personality during his early months on the WWE main roster, primarily feuding with Billy Kidman. Cena's career turned around, though, after he became the Doctor of Thuganomics in late 2002, with Cena having previously revealed he was close to being fired until he impressed WWE officials while freestyle rapping.

Cena is currently on his WWE retirement tour. He will be a part of WWE Money in the Bank, WWE Clash in Paris, and WWE Crown Jewel.
