John Cena's WWE Return Date Revealed

John Cena will be back on WWE TV very soon

John Cena will be back on WWE TV very soon.

WWE SmackDown's United States TV partner FOX Sports reported that John Cena will be returning to WWE TV next week on the Friday, September 1 edition of SmackDown that will emanate from The GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

While Cena will be appearing on SmackDown only one day before WWE's Payback pay-per-view in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the 16-time world champion won't be in action at the show. Instead, WWE are bringing back Cena for the upcoming Superstar Spectacle event in Hyderabad, India on September 8. The show won't be televised in the United States, but Cena has confirmed he will be wrestling at the event.

Cena has been more present on WWE TV in 2023 than in recent years, having initially returned in the run-up to WrestleMania 39. He challenged Austin Theory for the United States Championship in the opening match of 'Mania, suffering a loss to Theory. Cena then made a surprise appearance at July's Money in the Bank pay-per-view in London, England where he campaigned for WWE to eventually bring WrestleMania to the UK capital.
