John Cena's WWE Run Likely To Be Extended

John Cena might be sticking around on WWE TV

John Cena looks set to stick around on WWE TV for the foreseeable future.

Cena's return came together following the beginning of the SAG-AFTRA strike which paused a movie project he was currently in the middle of working on. The 16-time world champion has been on TV for the past several weeks and he is at least advertised for appearances up to the Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Saturday, November 4.

Cena stated following Fastlane that he would disappear from WWE TV when the SAG-AFTRA strike ends but that doesn't look set to be in the near future after talks between the union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke down and were suspended on Wednesday night.

SAG-AFTRA have been on strike since July 14 and talks between the union and studios collapsed on the fifth day of negotiations. The main stumbling block stemmed from SAG-AFTRA's desire for revenue sharing from successful streaming shows, which is estimated to be approximately 2% of potential profits from a show. Studios claimed the proposal would cost them $800 million per year. The use of generative AI has also caused issues in negotiations.

There has been no official announcement about Cena continuing his WWE run beyond Crown Jewel but he doesn't look set to return to acting in the immediate future.
