John Cena To Open July 19 WWE Monday Night Raw

Cena returned at Money In The Bank on Sunday

WWE have announced that the returning John Cena will kick-off Monday Night Raw in Dallas, Texas.

Cena made his shock return to the WWE Universe at the close of Money In The Bank 2021 on Sunday evening, confronting Universal Champion Roman Reigns and playing to the live crowd in attendance at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

The 44-year-old is now set to show up at Monday Night Raw, according to WWE, to offer a full explanation for why he has chosen to return to the promotion.

Cena will be opening the first WWE Monday Night Raw to have a live attendance at the show since March 2020.

It has been reported for a while that Cena has been booked to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021 in August. The 16-time World Champion certainly indicated as much with his actions at Money In The Bank, and also revealed to the live crowd following the show that his comeback was more than a one-night thing.
