John Cena choking out CM Punk

Having failed at the Royal Rumble, John Cena has finally punched his ticket to WrestleMania 41.

Cena emerged victorious in the Men's Elimination Chamber match on Saturday, March 1. The final three came down to Cena, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins but Punk and Cena combined to eliminate Rollins. Punk and Cena then fought back and forth until Seth Rollins, who had remained in the ring, took out Punk with a Stomp.

Cena, having watched the whole thing, took advantage and applied the STF to CM Punk, with Punk going unconscious to hand Cena the win.

Post-match, Cena did the unthinkable and turned heel for the first time in 22 years.

Saturday night marked Cena’s eighth time in an Elimination Chamber Match and the first time he has won one since 2011. His most recent Chamber match took place in 2018, a match which Roman Reigns ultimately won in order to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34.

Cena is currently on his farewell tour - which will run throughout 2025 - and the 47-year-old is on a quest to become a record-breaking 17-time world champion. He failed in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, being the last wrestler eliminated from the match by winner Jey Uso. Cena announced following the Rumble that he was entering himself into the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match and promptly headed back to Budapest, Hungary to continue filming of the Matchbox movie.
