Jon Moxley: AEW & WWE Working Together Will Never Happen

Moxley isn’t ever hopeful of a deal being struck

With all the news about ‘forbidden doors’ and other assorted furniture, talk has turned to the one partnership that seems the most out of reach; AEW and WWE working together.

Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, and Tony Khan have all recently talked about hoping it could potentially happen one day, but Jon Moxley has been far more blunt and dare we say realistic about things. Talking to Gary Cassidy at Inside the Ropes, the former AEW World Champion said the following:

“That would never happen. That’s not even worth wasting any mental energy to… You know. I mean, if you want to fantasy book some cool s**t. You know, maybe you could fantasy book it for, like, fun magazine, stuff. You know, Like back in the day, in magazines, you used to always have, like, “Dream match. Bill Goldberg versus Steve Austin,” in ’98. But that ain’t gonna happen.”

Moxley did indulge all the fantasy bookers out there, but reinstated his firm belief that it would never pan out:

“It’d be cool to think about the cool s**t that could happen, you know, like a big summit at the Tokyo Dome, AEW, NJPW, WWE or some s**t but that s**t ain’t going to happen. So, you know, they do their thing. They stay over there.”
