Flights into Omaha, Nebraska were cancelled on Wednesday due to Winter Storm Nyla, which brought a blizzard to the city. The blizzard just happened to land on the day All Elite Wrestling were holding Dynamite and Collision tapings at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
A headline match advertised for Dynamite was a Street Fight between Jon Moxley and Cope for the AEW World Championship. To ensure he made the show, Jon Moxley drove for 11 hours, Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live.
"There were several individuals who were supposed to fly in that couldn't and so they drove in...I believe Moxley is one of the people who drove like 11 hours to get to the building because they couldn't fly in," Alvarez said.
Jon Moxley ended up receiving Cope's spiked bat to the back for his trouble during the Street Fight. The referee and Wheeler Yuta then had trouble removing the bat from Moxley's back before they were finally able to do so after over a minute. Jon Moxley retained the title with a Bulldog Choke to Cope following interference from the Death Riders and The Patriarchy.
Moxley's next title defence will be against Swerve Strickland at the Dynasty pay-per-view on April 6.
