Jon Moxley Interested In Challenging For The IWGP World Heavyweight Title

Jon Moxley vs. SANADA coming soon?

Jon Moxley is aiming to become a world champion once again, this time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Following his win over El Desperado in their Final Death Match on July 5, Moxley revealed to Tokyo Sports that he is interested in challenging SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

"I have become both the WWE World Heavyweight Champion (now WWE Championship) and the AEW World Champion, but I haven't become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion yet. Isn't there no one who won all these three titles? If I were to fight SANADA, I would have an image of being the IWGP World Champion, and I think it would be interesting," Moxley said (translated using Google Translate).

Moxley has held gold in NJPW before and he is a two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. The Blackpool Combat Club member has become more active in NJPW in recent weeks, making his return to Japan at Dominion in early June where he, Claudio Castagnoli, and Shota Umino unsuccessfully challenged for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships.

Following his win over Despe on July 5, Moxley will return to All Elite Wrestling and he is set to be involved in Blood & Guts III on the July 19 edition of Dynamite.
