Jon Moxley Not Yet Cleared For AEW Return

Jon Moxley has not yet been cleared to return to AEW in-ring competition

Jon Moxley has not yet been cleared to return to in-ring action after suffering a concussion on the Grand Slam III edition of Dynamite on September 20.

Moxley is believed to have suffered a concussion after colliding with the floor during his AEW International Championship match against Rey Fenix, later receiving two Fire Thunder Drivers which drew criticism from fans and fellow professionals alike.

AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter/X on September 27 to reveal that Moxley has not yet been cleared to return to in-ring action:

“Last week at #AEWDynamite Grand Slam, @ReyFenixMx won the International Title. Both Fenix + former champ @JonMoxley were injured in the bout. AEW Doctors are unable to clear Mox tonight, but moments ago they DID clear Fenix, who will defend his title in an Open Challenge TONIGHT!”

It is currently unknown how long Mox will be out of action, and the nature of concussions means there is no set timetable for a return. It could be a matter, day, weeks, or maybe even months until we see Moxley compete again.
