Jon Moxley Returns To The Ring 1/23 For GCW

His first match since October

Jon Moxley returns to the ring later this month, after taking time away to deal with personal issues.

Game Changer Wrestling announced Friday evening that Moxley will defend the GCW championship against Homicide at "The Wrld on GCW" on Sunday, January 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

This will be Moxley's first match since wrestling Jimmy Jacobs at an independent event at the end of October. He was supposed to face Orange Cassidy in the semifinals of AEW's World Title Eliminator tournament that Wednesday, but backed out after it was announced on November 2 that Moxley was entering an in-patient alcohol treatment program.

Moxley won the GCW World title on September 4, defeating Matt Cardona at The Art of War Games in Chicago.

Other matches announced for The Wrld on GCW include ROH World champion Jonathan Gresham defending the title against Blake Christian, as well as Cardona vs. Joey Janela, Allie Katch vs. Ruby Soho, and a trios bout pitting Gringo Loco, Demonic Flamita, and Arez against Bandido, Laredo Kido, and ASF.
