Jonathan Gresham Not Medically Cleared

Jonathan Gresham is being kept out of action for the time being

ROH World Champion has not been medically cleared to compete after his recent title defence against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle of the Belts II.

Reports at the time suggested that Gresham may have been injured during the match, with a report from Fightful Select stating that Gresham had to be checked out for a possible concussion post-match. The belief is that Gresham may have suffered an injury after a gut wrench sequence with Castle early in the match.

Gresham later put out a statement saying he wasn’t medically cleared to compete and would be missing back-to-back shows in the UK for PROGRESS Wrestling:

"Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to London this weekend for the Sunday and Monday events due to an injury. I have not been cleared to compete. I do want to apologise to PROGRESS and the fans for not being able to make it this weekend. I really wanted to, but my health comes first and I have to just take a little time off. Once I’m cleared, I’ll definitely be back and I really look forward to being back, working with PROGRESS, and performing for you guys. Please, keep me in your prayers. I’d really appreciate it. I’ll see you all next time, and thank you for understanding,” said Gresham in a video message.

Gresham did not specify the nature of his injury, whilst PROGRESS have confirmed Gresham will return to the promotion on May 15 in London.
