Jordan Devlin Returning To WWE NXT With New Name

Say hello to JD McDonagh

Jordan Devlin has received a new name ahead of his NXT 2.0 debut.

It was announced on last night's show that Devlin will henceforth be known as JD McDonagh. The new character was introduced via a video vignette, portraying McDonagh as a wealthy Dubliner who drives a vintage car and only leaves his house if it's worth it.

The Irish Ace lost a Loser Leaves NXT UK Match against Ilja Dragunov back on the May 12 episode of NXT UK. It initially appeared that Devlin had captured the NXT UK Title but the decision was overturned and Dragunov went on to win with a Torpedo Moscow.

Devlin competed in the previous incarnation of NXT, holding the Cruiserweight Championship. However, travel bans related to the COVID-19 pandemic prevented him from frequently entering the United States and he mostly defended the title on NXT UK.

McDonagh joins Pretty Deadly, Alba Fyre and Nathan Frazer as talent who have recently been switched from NXT UK to NXT in the United States.
