Legendary AJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH star Jun Akiyama will make his AEW debut on next Friday night's edition of Rampage, as he teams with a returning Konosuke Takeshita to face Eddie Kingston and Ortiz.

A 30-year pro, Akiyama is the last active wrestler from the "Four Pillars of Heaven" that included Kenta Kobashi, Akira Taue, and the late Mitsuharu Misawa. Akiyama twice held the AJPW Triple Crown, and also held Pro Wrestling NOAH's GHC Heavyweight title three times.

Akiyama presently wrestles for DDT Pro along with Takeshita, who will compete in his first AEW match stateside since August. Takeshita wrestled several high profile matches during his last AEW excursion, including an ROH World title match against Claudio Castagnoli at Battle of the Belts.

Kingston and Ortiz are presently undefeated as a tag team, and have teamed up more steadily since the injury to Ortiz's previous partner, Santana.

Next Friday's AEW Rampage will be air live at the Prudential Center in Newark, the same venue as the next day's Full Gear pay-per-view. So far, this is the only match announced for Rampage.
