"Jungle Boy" Jack Perry Hits Back At SANADA: I've Never Seen A SANADA Match

"Jungle Boy" Jack Perry responds to SANADA's harsh comments

After “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry stepped up to respond and answer the open challenge laid out by the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, the champion had some harsh words to say about his challenger, claiming in an interview that he was disappointed by the calibre of opponent and that he hadn’t even heard of him. Jack Perry decided to deliver back his own jibes during an interview with WrestleZone

“Yeah, I saw (SANADA’s comments). I’m going to be completely honest. I was a little bit relieved when I saw that because I have been feeling a little guilty, kind of secretly. I’ve never seen a SANADA match in my life. I was feeling a little bit guilty about that, like, ‘Oh my God, that’s kind of rude’ or whatever. But then he said that, and I was like, ‘Okay, that’s great.’”

Perry did go on to drop the ‘shoot’ nature of his interview by looking at why the pair likely don’t know each other and how this is a good opportunity to work together to figure it out.

“I haven’t watched anything other than Kenny and Will Ospreay in New Japan since Cody and Kenny and The Young Bucks left and started AEW, so I have not seen any of that. I don’t really keep up with that. I don’t think he has any particular reason to know too much about me, but I think it’s gonna be fun because we’re gonna learn pretty much everything there is to know when we’re kicking each other in the face on pay-per-view.”

Perry went on to discuss being happy and appreciative of the faith put in him by Tony Khan for a big spot like this, and stated his intentions to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship and bring it to AEW.
