KAIRI Becomes First-Ever IWGP Women's Champion At NJPW X Stardom Historic X-Over

KAIRI wins the IWGP Women's Championship at Historic X-Over

Former WWE talent KAIRI is the inaugural IWGP Women's Champion following her win over Mayu Iwatani in the tournament final at today's NJPW x Stardom Historic X-Over show. KAIRI picked up the win with the Insane Elbow after a back-and-forth battle.

Following the match, The Pirate Princess noted she doesn't know who she will face at Wrestle Kingdom 17. This brought out Tam Nakano and KAIRI accepted her challenge, making the match on January 4 inside the Tokyo Dome official.

KAIRI advanced to the final following a win over Jazzy Gabert in the semifinal. Iwatani made it to the final after victories over Momo Watanabe and Utami Hayashishita.

Elsewhere on Historic X-Over, The Great Muta competed in his last-ever NJPW match, while Kenny Omega returned to NJPW and challenged Will Ospreay to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 17, which The Commonwealth Kingpin accepted.
