Kairi Sane Returns To WWE At Crown Jewel 2023

Kairi Sane is back in WWE!

IYO SKY defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair at Crown Jewel and although the champion dominated much of the action, Belair fought back and fended off interference from Bayley. 

This led to the point where Belair was about to put Bayley through the announce table with a KOD, only for Kairi Sane to run through the crowd and save Bayley. To little reaction from the fans in Saudi Arabia, Sane then sent Belair crashing into the ring post before IYO SKY hit the challenger with a Moonsault to record the successful title defence. 

Sane looks to be the latest member of Damage CTRL as she and SKY beat down Belair following the match as Bayley looked confused at ringside. A beatdown from Bayley and Sasha Banks was the storyline explanation for Sane’s WWE exit as an in-ring performer in the summer of 2020. 

Sane was previously a part of WWE from 2017 until the end of 2021, spending her final 18 months in the company as an ambassador in Japan. Sane then wrestled for Stardom and NJPW, among other promotions, during which she became the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion. 

It emerged in August that Sane had agreed to return to WWE and her comeback was said to be imminent in recent days.
