To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Roman Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel, defeating LA Knight in the latest interference-riddled match from WWE's top star.

Reigns' matches as the top champion in WWE have followed a similar formula over the past three years and that formula was repeated at Crown Jewel. Knight looked to have the match won down the stretch following a BFT but Bloodline interference, this time from Jimmy Uso, meant Reigns' foot ended up on the bottom rope for a two count.

Knight then looked to take out Jimmy, bouncing his head off the announce table before he put Uso through the table. Knight then stumbled, though, and was wide open for a Spear through the barricade from Roman Reigns.

One more Spear from Reigns back in the ring allowed the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to record his latest successful title defence.

Reigns now looks set to remain champion through the remainder of 2023 as he isn't scheduled to be in action at Survivor Series, WWE's final pay-per-view of the year. He is expected to face the soon-to-be-returning AJ Styles for his next programme.
