Kairi Sane Suffers Injury In First Singles Match In Two Years

Kairi Sane suffered an ear injury in her second match back

Former WWE star Kairi Sane has suffered an injury in her second match in eighteen months.

Sane (now going by the name KAIRI) made her return to the ring on Saturday at the STARDOM World Climax 'The Best' event. On it, she teamed with Mayu Iwatani to defeat Tam Nakano and Unagi Sayaka.

The next night, she worked her first singles match since July 2020, going over Starlight Kid.

Though victorious once again, it came at a cost for the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

During her post-match press conference, KAIRI told reporters that she had ruptured her left eardrum during the bout. Describing the effects of the injury and dealing with it during the match, she said:

"My eardrum [is] ruptured right now, so I can't hear. Each move had weight, and [my ear felt like it] was on fire during the fight. She was a different person from the previous [Starlight] Kid. My eardrum was torn, but I was happy, or rather, the pain made me happy".

It is unclear how much (if any) time she may miss as a result of the injury.
