Karrion Kross' In-Ring Return Among Four Matches Announced For NXT

Including a number one contender's match...

WWE has announced the in-ring return of Karrion Kross for this Wednesday's episode of NXT, in addition to three other matches.

It's been announced that Pete Dunne will go one on one with Kyle O'Reilly, with the winner going on to face NXT champion Finn Balor for the title on January 6, at the brand's New Year's Evil event.

Balor has not wrestled since October 4, when he successfully defended the title against O'Reilly at that date's TakeOver. He sustained a broken jaw during the match.

Also in one on one action, Rhea Ripley will take on Toni Storm. Both were on opposite sides of the women's War Games match last week, and Ripley made the save for Ember Moon from a beating at the hands of Storm and Raquel Gonzalez on this past week's NXT.

The card for this Wednesday's NXT includes the following:

* Number one contenders match: Kyle O'Reilly vs. Pete Dunne (winner faces NXT champion Finn Balor at New Year's Evil)

* Rhea Ripley vs. Toni Storm

* Leon Ruff and Kushida vs. Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory

* Karrion Kross returns to action
