Karrion Kross, Scarlett Return On WWE SmackDown

Making an emphatic statement

Less than a year after both were released from WWE, Karrion Kross and Scarlett returned to the company during Friday's SmackDown in Greenville, SC.

In the show's closing segment, Drew McIntyre was cutting a promo on Roman Reigns to build to their WWE Universal title match at Clash at the Castle in four weeks. Suddenly, the screen went gray, and eerie music played, leading to the reveal of Scarlett on the entrance ramp. Kross then appeared, attacking McIntyre.

Kross then stared at Reigns as Scarlett put an hourglass in the ring. As the sand from the hourglass fell, Kross pointed at Reigns to end the show.

Fightful reported earlier Friday that WWE had interest in bringing Kross back. He and Scarlett were released from WWE last November 4.

In his earlier WWE tenure, Kross twice reigned as NXT champion, but went on to have a creatively-hampered run on the main roster, beginning with his call-up last summer.

Kross' return comes less than a week after he defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr at Ric Flair's Last Match in Nashville.
