Kassius Ohno Part Of WWE Layoffs

Another name for an already-staggering list...

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that NXT performer and coach Kassius Ohno is part of this week's layoffs.

It's unconfirmed at this time if he's been released outright, or is on a furlough like other producers and trainers. However, Ohno did change his Twitter name to "WWE Alumni", and his profile on the company's website was moved to the Alumni section, something that was first noticed a few days ago.

After originally achieving recognition under the name Chris Hero, Ohno wrestled two tenures for WWE in their developmental system. The 40-year-old competed in FCW/NXT in 2012 and 2013, before being released. After several years barnstorming through various top-level indies, Ohno was rehired in 2016, where he once more performed in NXT.

At the time of his layoff, Ohno was wrestling and coaching for NXT UK.

Throughout his career, Ohno has been a champion in various promotions. On two occasions, he held Ring of Honor's Tag Team titles as part of the Kings of Wrestling with current WWE star Cesaro, and has held the top belts in such promotions as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, EVOLVE, and Combat Zone Wrestling.
