WWE have filed to trademark the former in-ring name of Dax Harwood with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
WWE filed to trademark 'Scott Dawson' on Friday, August 15. The new filing was issued due to WWE failing to refile for the term in time, which resulted in its expiration earlier this month. Dax Harwood previously wrestled as Scott Dawson in WWE from 2012 until his departure in 2020. He has performed as Dax Harwood since signing with All Elite Wrestling.
While WWE may have initially forgotten to refile their trademark for Scott Dawson, they made no such error with Dash Wilder in 2024, and they continue to own the trademark for Cash Wheeler's former name.
WWE filed multiple trademarks on August 15, including for Shawn Spears. WWE previously filed for the wrestler's name in March 2024 shortly after Spears' return to the company, but WWE's filing was rejected in February 2025. The trademark for the name is already registered to Shawn Spears himself, and he remains the listed owner with USPTO.
WWE also filed to trademark 'Slapjack' and 'Ridge Holland' on August 14, while a new filing was issued for 'WWE ThunderDome' after WWE's previous application for the term was abandoned in October 2024.
