Kay Lee Ray Appears At NXT TakeOver 36

She's got her eye on someone

Kay Lee Ray appeared at NXT TakeOver 36 on Sunday night in Orlando, entering the arena following the conclusion of the NXT Women's title match.

Champion Raquel Gonzalez had just finished off former partner Dakota Kai in the title bout, pinning Kai following a top rope chokeslam.

As Gonzalez celebrated her win, Kay Lee Ray's music hit. Ray came out onto the stage, and stared Gonzalez down from a distance.

Ray is a former NXT UK Women's champion, holding the belt for a reputed 649 days (the actual number isn't known, as no date has been given for when her title loss to Meiko Satomura was filmed).

Ray won the title from Toni Storm at TakeOver: Cardiff on August 31, 2019, holding it until what was said to be June 10 of this year.

Gonzalez has been NXT Women's champion for 134 days, having won the title from Io Shirai at TakeOver: Stand and Deliver on April 7. Through her four-plus month reign, Gonzalez has successfully defended her title against Kai, Mercedes Martinez, Ember Moon, and Xia Li.
