Kazuchika Okada 'Far More Likely' To Sign With AEW Over WWE

Kazuchika Okada is looking AEW bound

Kazuchika Okada will be a free agent at the end of this month, and there has been talk on both sides suggesting that the living NJPW legend could join either WWE or AEW. Although it was reported that both companies were vying for him, a frontrunner has now emerged.

A report from PWInsider has revealed that at this point in time, AEW is a much likelier destination for Okada rather than WWE. A source told them that any talks between Okada and WWE have been either very minimal or not taken place at all. When it comes to AEW, Okada has more familiarity with the company having competed in the promotion previously, also having friendships with AEW stars such as Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, and Bryan Danielson.

On the Young Bucks, the report goes on to say that Okada has fierce loyalty to Matt & Nick Jackson after the brothers took Okada under his wing during his first spell in TNA. Additionally, it is said that Tony Khan is a huge fan of Okada’s work, and “all signs are that Okada is AEW’s to lose”. Even with talk of Okada wanting to compete at WrestleMania and this potentially being a pull for WWE, AEW are reportedly in the lead to sign Okada.
