Kazuchika Okada Wins NJPW G1 Climax 32

Another G1 Climax win for Kazuchika Okada

For the second year in a row, Kazuchika Okada is the winner of the G1 Climax.

The Rainmaker faced Will Ospreay in the G1 Climax 32 final today inside the Nippon Budokan and Ospreay looked to have the match won after he connected with a Hidden Blade, Frog Splash, and Styles Clash but Okada just kept kicking out. Ospreay then looked to take some inspiration from Kenny Omega as he hit a V-Trigger before he went for the One-Winged Angel but Okada escaped and followed up with a Rainmaker for a near fall.

Both men then continued to look for their finishers and Okada eventually reversed a Hidden Blade attempt into the Cobra Flowsion before he followed up with the Rainmaker for the 1-2-3.

With his win, Okada has a date set with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White at Wrestle Kingdom 17. Okada and his former protege have feuded since White returned to Japan at Wrestling Dontaku. Switchblade defeated Okada to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at Dominion.

Today's victory marks the fourth time Okada has won the G1 Climax, having previously emerged victorious in G1 finals in 2012, 2014, and 2021.

Okada earned a spot in the G1 Climax 32 final by winning the A Block. He then defeated Tama Tonga in the semifinals.
