Kenny Omega Believed To Have Signed New AEW Deal
Konnan assumes Kenny Omega has re-signed with AEW

Kenny Omega may have signed a contract extension with All Elite Wrestling.
There was plenty of uncertainty about Omega's future with AEW during the first three months of 2023, with reports noting the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion's contract was set to expire in February 2023 but injury time had been added to the deal to keep him with the promotion well into the year. Omega was also said to be open-minded about jumping to WWE and the man himself stated he was unsure about his pro wrestling future.
Konnan has now provided an update on Omega's AEW status, revealing to Haus of Wrestling that he couldn't book Omega for night one of AAA TripleMania XXXI because The Best Bout Machine was still in talks with All Elite Wrestling over a new contract. The AAA booker now assumes that Omega has signed a new AEW deal, while also revealing that WWE held talks with the former AEW World Champion.
"Originally we were going to bring in Omega [for TripleMania] but he was still negotiating with AEW and he wasn't sure if he was going to stay or not. So, we couldn't commit, and he didn't want to come here until he signed. So, that was out the window, boom. And then, after that, we asked for a couple of people from AEW and they weren't available. Then we got another guy who was hurt, and, basically, what we got, was Swerve. Which I don't have a problem with because he may not have the name value as other people but he's an incredible wrestler, I worked with him in Lucha Underground and Ricochet had actually recommended him to me. I think the match will be great because Rich Swann is great. You've got one guy from AEW, one guy from IMPACT, and then you've got Komander," Konnan said.
"I'm assuming [Omega re-signed]. I never really asked him but there are plans for him in the future so I'm thinking he already signed. But, you know, he wasn't sure if he was going to stay and WWE was talking to him. You know? So, we couldn't get him to commit," he added.
Night one of TripleMania XXXI will see El Hijo Del Vikingo defend the AAA Mega Championship against Komander, Swerve Strickland, and Rich Swann.
Kenny Omega has not appeared on AEW programming since he was laid out by Bryan Danielson and the Blackpool Combat Club on March 29. A reunion between Hangman Page and The Elite has been teased in recent weeks, suggesting Omega has plans with AEW well into 2023.
