Kenny Omega has returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, setting his sights on the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Omega appeared via video, challenging IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji after Tsuji successfully defended the title against Ryohei Oiwa at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling on October 12. After Omega’s message aired, Oleg Boltin stormed the ring to confront Tsuji, only for Omega to appear and lay both men out to a huge reaction.
Backstage, Omega commented on his return, noting that he is in no way number one contender, before suggesting a non-title three way against Tsuji and Boltin at Power Struggle on November 3, with Omega getting a title shot if he emerges victorious.
Aside from AEW/NJPW co-promoted shows, Omega has not wrestled in a New Japan ring since January 2023. Since his AEW World Championship loss to Will Ospreay at All In in August, Omega has been spending time in Japan, save for a return to the United States for the PAC memorial edition of AEW Dynamite on September 30.
