Kenny Omega To Defend AAA Mega Championship At TripleMania 28

The date of the event is still unknown...

Kenny Omega will return to AAA to defend the Mega championship at the promotion's 28th TripleMania event. But the date of that event is not currently known.

It was announced during the TripleMania 28 press conference that Omega would defend the Mega championship at the event against Laredo Kid.

It will mark Omega's second defense of the title after winning the belt in December 2019 from Dragon Lee, and his first defense within AAA itself. He previously defended the championship against Sammy Guevara on an episode of AEW Dynamite in March.

Though no official date has been nailed down for TripleMania 28, CEO Dorian Roldan said they're hoping to run the event in December, pending Arena Ciudad de Mexico health conditions. They either need a change in health code status, or consent from the government, to run the event as intended.

Also planned for the event are a hair vs. hair match between Chessman and Pagano, as well as Aracno and Leyenda Americana vs. Terror Purpura and Venenoide (in a cross-promotion with Marvel), and a Hall of Fame induction for La Parka.
