A Match Between Kenny Omega And El Hijo Del Vikingo Has Been Announced For AEW Dynamite
After reports of a delayed arrival, the debut in AEW of El Hijo del Vikingo has been officially announced for the March 22 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Tony Khan took to twitter to announce a blockbuster encounter with Kenny Omega;
“In a dream match that was postponed in 2021, Kenny Omega will finally go one-on-one vs the amazing El Hijo del Vikingo on TBS this Wednesday!”
Khan is referencing the time that Omega was ruled out with an injury back in 2021 that put a halt to plans for him to do battle with Vikingo in AAA. Vikingo is the reigning AAA Mega Champion, a prize previously held by Omega, though it won’t be on the line in this bout.
Following this announcement, the updated card for AEW Dynamite on March 22 from Independence, MO is as follows;
- Kenny Omega vs. El Hijo del Vikingo
- The Gunns (c) vs. Top Flight - AEW World Tag Team Championships
- Hook vs. Stokely Hathaway - No Disqualification Match
