Veteran pro wrestling commentator Kevin Kelly set to launch own promotion

Veteran pro wrestling commentator Kevin Kelly has revealed he is set to launch his own promotion.

Taking to Twitter, Kelly revealed he is part of American eXcellence Wrestling, sharing the following information:

“This is what I've been dying to share! American eXcellence Wrestling is the first promotion I have a financial stake in and the first event is January 7 at the Historic Hamburg Fieldhouse.”

In later tweets, Kelly revealed he will not be providing commentary for the new promotion, but will seemingly consider a run in the booth when the company is properly up and running.

Kelly is best known to modern viewers as the English language lead commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling, however long-time fans will remember Kelly from his role as an announcer and backstage interviewer for WWE during the Attitude Era, famously appearing with The Rock in several backstage segments.

Aside from WWE and NJPW, Kelly also spent several years as the lead commentator for Ring of Honor, working for ROH from 2011 to 2017.
