Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has responded accusations that he helped 'kill' World Championship Wrestling.
The five-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion signed with the company in 1996 and was one of its biggest stars until it was bought by WWE in March of 2001.
Addressing people who believe he had a big hand in the promotion's demise during a recent edition of his Kliq This podcast, Big Sexy said:
"People would say, 'Nash single-handedly destroyed WCW'. Like it would upset me. I'm thinking like, 'Wow, like, you're almost giving me like, that's almost Trump status. So like, I not only killed, like, a wrestling show that at one point had beaten Vince McMahon for 83 [weeks]...I also forced them to sell the Braves, the Hawks, everything that wasn't bolted down'".
The book 'The Death of WCW' (by R.D. Reynolds & Bryan Alvarez) was particularly critical of Nash during his time in the company.
Following the closing down of WCW, Nash would resurface in WWE in early 2002 and reform the New World Order with original members Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall.
