Kevin Owens Added To WWE Title Match At Day 1

The match will now be a triple threat

The scheduled WWE title match between Big E and Seth Rollins for Day 1 will now be a triple threat match, after Kevin Owens gained entry as a result of the main event of Monday's Raw.

Earlier in the night, Big E vs. Rollins as a one on one match was announced for Day 1, due to Rollins' status as number one contender (which he earned by winning a ladder match over Owens, Rey Mysterio, and Finn Balor last month on Raw).

However, Owens was put into a non-title match with Big E on tonight's show, with the promise that he would enter into the WWE title bout with a win. The match came about through Owens manipulating Rollins, Adam Pearce, and Sonya Deville into ultimately giving him his way.

For the match itself, Rollins was on commentary, and Owens attacked him during the match. This baited Rollins into attacking Owens in front of the referee, who called for the disqualification, thus giving Owens a spot in the title match.

Big E vs. Rollins vs. Owens is so far the only match official for Day 1. The event takes place on Saturday, January 1 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
