During his WWE career, Kevin Owens has formed memorable alliances with the likes of Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn and the consensus is that KO has thrived when given somebody to bounce off.
The former Universal Champion was recently doing the media rounds and he told talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy that he has previously pitched to form a tag team with the likes of AJ Styles, Mustafa Ali and Apollo Crews. The ideas were ultimately turned down "for one reason or another," though, and KO remains a singles Superstar on Friday Night SmackDown.
"I have lobbied to be in a team with other people," Owens said. "I've tried to become a tag team with Ali. I've actually tried to be a team with AJ Styles because I thought the clash of personalities would be pretty interesting and then, you know, for one reason or another it didn't come to fruition. Even me and Apollo Crews at one point we were just kind of doing some stuff together.
"And these are all guys I really have a lot of respect for and would love to be a team with, just because I think one way or another we'd manage to make some memorable television for people. Winning the tag titles would be a bonus, but it's definitely something I'd love to accomplish. Like everybody else, I'd love to win every title in WWE just because it's a nice little notch on your belt when it's all said and done."
