Kevin Owens Ready To Give Up On Trying To Bring Shawn Michaels Out Of Retirement
Kevin Owens abandoning hopes of bringing Shawn Michaels out of retirement

Kevin Owens did the impossible when he brought Stone Cold Steve Austin out of retirement at WrestleMania 38, but KO is giving up hope of bringing Shawn Michaels back for one last match.
Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Owens spoke about wanting to face Michaels, revealing he approaches the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ every year:
“Well, the answer is always Shawn Michaels,” said Owens when asked which retired star he’d like to face after Austin. “I really try pretty much every year. I think I’m done trying now, though, I think he’s pretty much… it’s three years running where he’s politely said no to me. I think the next time I ask, he’ll probably just tell me to F off, to say it nicely.
“I think last year he literally had triceps surgery just to avoid the question. But, yeah, if I could wrestle, if there’s anyone I’d love to wrestle [it’s] Shawn Michaels. I’m sure he would still be able to put in a performance like no other. I have no doubt. But he’s done with it. He’s done. Trust me, I’ve tried.”
Michaels retired from in-ring competition at WrestleMania 26 in 2010, coming out of retirement once in November 2018 for a D-X vs. Brothers of Destruction tag match at Crown Jewel. The match was widely panned, and Michaels has spoken of his regrets at breaking his retirement for it.
