Kevin Owens-Roman Reigns Segment Set For Next Week's WWE SmackDown

The two will meet at the Royal Rumble...

With Kevin Owens now slated to challenge for Roman Reigns' Universal title in a Last Man Standing match at the 2021 Royal Rumble, the two will face off in a verbal confrontation on this Friday night's edition of WWE SmackDown.

Owens earned his way into the match at the Rumble Friday night following a contractual bait-and-switch initiated by authority figure Adam Pearce, who was designed to be Reigns' original opponent.

Owens and Paul Heyman confronted each other on the post-SmackDown edition of Talking Smack, where he admitted Owens outsmarted him, but made it very clear that Reigns is angry over Friday night's turn of events.

After some more back and forth between the two, Owens said he didn't want to make Heyman the "messenger" between himself and Reigns, and would much rather say what he has to say to the "Tribal Chief" on next week's broadcast of SmackDown.

Also scheduled for next week's show, Big E will defend the Intercontinental championship against recent opponent Apollo Crews. In addition, Bayley has challenged Bianca Belair to an "obstacle course" of some sort.
