Kevin Owens Works WWE Royal Rumble With Fractured Foot

It has been reported that Kevin Owens carried an injury into his WWE Royal Rumble bout.

A F4WOnline report by Dave Meltzer has revealed that Kevin Owens worked his match at the WWE Royal Rumble with a fractured foot.

Meltzer reveals that Owens sustained the injury in the SmackDown match against Santos Escobar, the last bout he wrestled prior to last weekend's Premium Live Event.

At the Rumble, Owens challenged Logan Paul for the WWE United States Championship, losing via DQ after the referee spotted him wearing a set of brass knuckles. Although it was the champion who initially tried to use the weapon, Owens gained control and blasted Paul with a loaded right hand, only for the referee to spot the object as the challenger made the cover.

Paul has now been United States Champion for close to three months, initially winning the title from Rey Mysterio at WWE Crown Jewel 2023.

Last weekend's match against Owens was just Logan's ninth in WWE, each coming at a PLE. It is widely assumed that Paul will go on to defend the belt at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, although whether this will be a rematch against Owens or a bout against a new challenger remains to be seen.

Owens himself is a three-time former United States Champion, although he hasn't held the belt since July 2017.
