Key AEW Backstage Figure Retires

AEW have celebrated the retirement of a key backstage figure

A member of All Elite Wrestling’s backstage team has celebrated their retirement ahead of the June 7 edition of Dynamite.

Having been a part of the company since its formation back in 2019, seamstress Sandra Gray has officially retired from day-to-day work with the company, with the beloved costume designer having worked in the industry for decades, previously plying her trade for WCW and WWE.

A report from Fightful revealed that Dustin Rhodes led the crowd in giving Gray an ovation ahead of Dynamite, with AEW President Tony Khan and several other backstage members of staff joining the pair and presenting Gray with flowers.

Whilst Gray has retired from full-time operations, she is reportedly going to continue to make Cody Rhodes’ gear, with Cody’s Brandi Rhodes instrumental in bringing Gray into AEW.

Some of wrestling’s most iconic gear designs were made by Gray, such as Naomi’s ‘GLOW’ suit in WWE, and Scott Hall’s iconic blood drip gear from his run in WCW, amongst many many others.
