Kofi Kingston Confirms Xavier Woods Is Dealing With Injuries

Xavier Woods seemingly injured according to Kofi Kingston

Since lifting the NXT Tag Titles at NXT Deadline on December 10, The New Day have only wrestled twice more, with the legendary tag team's last bout coming at a house show on December 27.

Speculation arose suggesting that the team could be on the shelf with injuries, and Kofi Kingston has confirmed to the New York Post that Woods is dealing with injuries, but is getting "better and better" with the two wanting Woods to be back at 100% before stepping back in the ring.

“We are able to progress our storyline and let him rest and recover. He’ll be good in no time. He’s made a lot of progress already,” said Kingston.

Kofi did not disclose the nature of Woods’ injury, but it hasn’t stopped the two appearing on WWE TV, with the champions set to defend the titles at the upcoming NXT Vengeance Day on February 4, taking on Gallus and Pretty Deadly.

Woods was last out of action in early 2022, suffering an injury to the plantaris muscle of his calf last January.
