LA Knight is an immensely popular member of the WWE roster, with his popularity having only grown in 2023. Knight's booking on the main roster has yet to catch up with his popularity, however, and the former Eli Drake remains mired in the mid-card.

Knight was recently on the losing end of a brief programme with Xavier Woods and the former IMPACT World Champion is currently in a storyline with Rick Boogs, having turned on Shinsuke Nakamura's former guitarist following their loss to the Street Profits on the May 19 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Speaking on his Keepin' it 100 podcast, Konnan expressed his dismay with Knight's WWE booking, noting the Los Angeles' hero has the potential to be Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

"I don't know why you'd have a guy - when it's so hard to get people over - [who] is over, and you haven't even pushed him. There's so many great things you can do to make money with him, why you wouldn't take advantage of him and try to take his knees out... And I could see him as Universal Champion, and if they gave him a proper push like - we've seen them do when they want to - why not World Champ?" Konnan said.

Despite his current booking, reports have indicated that LA Knight will soon be on the receiving end of a push on WWE TV and he is on a list of candidates to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
